El idioma español seduce al mundo
Colombia se destaca por su nivel de enseñanza y su ambiente
Amor, estudio, trabajo, negocios o simplemente el espíritu de aventura han motivado a miles de extranjeros alrededor del mundo a venir a nuestro país a aprender español.
Es así que Colombia se ha convertido, junto con Argentina, Chile y México, en una de las potencias más importantes del continente en la enseñanza del español como segunda lengua, entre otros factores por "el avance en seguridad que se ha tenido en los últimos años y los esfuerzos del Gobierno para mejorar la imagen del país en el exterior", afirma Mary Naranjo de Reyes, coordinadora académica del Programa de Español para Extranjeros de la Universidad de La Sabana, en Bogotá.
Así las cosas, este trabajo se ha venido incrementando en varias ciudades, y "desde el mismo momento en que llegan los hablantes de otras lenguas se encuentran inmersos aprendiendo no solo el nuevo idioma, sino que comienzan a interactuar con los colombianos", asegura.
Y no son pocos quienes nos visitan. Muchos llegan a trabajar en compañías internacionales, a hacer inversiones; otros a hacer turismo y unos más invitados por colombianos que conocieron en su país de origen.
Sobre el terreno
Quienes vienen, dice Naranjo de Reyes, se benefician de "la práctica de la lengua en contextos reales y la utilización del idioma en una amplia variedad de aspectos de la vida cotidiana, lo que contribuye a mejorar el conocimiento de una realidad del país diferente a la percepción que se tenía en su lugar de origen".
Para Álvaro Castañeda, director del Instituto de Lenguas de la Universidad Distrital (Ilud), la mejor estrategia para lograr un proceso efectivo de aprendizaje es involucrarse en las actividades cotidianas de una persona nativa; es decir, "hacer las clases en los museos, restaurantes, sitios de interés y otros lugares en donde converjan el aprendizaje con la práctica real del español".
Un tema fundamental, como explica Lourdes Rey, coordinadora académica del Instituto de Idiomas de la Universidad del Norte, en Barranquilla, quien destaca "un aprendizaje significativo, es decir, que el estudiante mezcle la enseñanza tradicional con actividades culturales y deportivas que mantengan su motivación y le permitan un avance rápido en la adquisición del lenguaje y en el mejoramiento de su uso en contextos prácticos".
De manera global
Y para que no haya dudas del nivel, un buen número de universidades colombianas hacen parte del Sistema Internacional de Certificación del Español como Lengua Extranjera (Sicele), liderado por el Instituto Cervantes en España.
Colombia, al estar vinculada al Sicele, explica Magda Bogotá, directora del Departamento de Lenguas de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, tiene como tarea conformar redes que, más allá de buscar la certificación de la lengua, se han dedicado a la formación académica y a la investigación en esta área, como es el caso de EnRedele, con nodos de trabajo en Bogotá, Costa Caribe y Eje Cafetero.

La UNESCO delcara al mariachi mexicano patrimonio de la Humanidad

- Los grupos musicales mariachis interpretan, además de canciones de su propio género, boleros, rancheras y baladas.
La música mariachi mexicana ingresó este domingo en la Lista de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad de la Unesco por una decisión unánime del comité de expertos reunido en la isla indonesia de Bali.
Un grupo de 13 mariachis irrumpió en la sala de la convención y entonó "El son de la negra", una de las melodías más emblemáticas de este género, para celebrar la decisión de los especialistas.
Éstos apreciaron la expresión única del mariachi, compuesta por música de cuerdas, canto y trompeta, centrada en la vida en comunidad y que condensa la identidad mexicana a pesar de que surgió en estados como Jalisco, Nayarit o Michoacán y Colima.
"El mariachi, con el paso del tiempo, se ha ido convirtiendo en algo representativo de todo México", declaróAnna Goycoolea, coordinadora del programa del Patrimonio Inmaterial mexicano y representante de la candidatura en Bali.

Cravioto dijo que el mariachi acompaña todo el recorrido vital de los mexicanos ya que "está presente desde el bautizo hasta el entierro", y señaló que, junto con la comida, es el único elemento propio que los emigrantes se llevan siempre consigo. También transmitió el compromiso del Gobierno mexicano de proteger y promover los valores culturales del mariachi dentro y fuera del país.

LA POSICIÓN DE LAS PREPOSICIONES
Las preposiciones normalmente van delante de los nombres o pronombres en la frase.

Prepositions are little words that help us to establish relations between different elements of a sentence. They can show a movement, time and position relationship among two or more objects within the sentence. Prepositions in Spanish are invariable, that is, they do not take on masculine and feminine or singular and plural. They will always have the same form. In Spanish we have single prepositions, that is, an only word, and complex prepositions which are formed by more than one word. Here is a list of the single prepositions in Spanish:

The Telenovela Method of Learning Spanish
I know a guy who learned to speak fluent Spanish with a perfect Mexican accent while working as a line cook at an Applebees in Texas (he decided to do this because everyone else in the kitchen was a native Spanish speaker with very limited English skills), and the method he used is…interesting, funny, and just plain damn ingenious all at the same time.
What Is recommend to do is incorporate this method into your current learning system, as opposed to doing it exclusively, but I do think it’s probably worth spending 30-60 minutes on per day–if you do that you’ll probably work wonders in a couple months’ time.
What he had to work with from the get-go was the basic grammar and very little vocabulary he remembered from high school Spanish classes from 20 years prior. He had DirectTV and what he would do is choose a telenovela (soap opera) on Univision and record a one hour episode of it on Tivo (you can watch these online now, see our list of sites to find TV online).
Now, he would play back the episode and, pausing every few seconds, write down verbatim one or two minutes worth of dialog. Then, he would go through those two or three paragraphs of dialogue and learn absolutely everything he needed to completely understand what was being said–definitions, grammar, idioms, expressions, everything. He would try saying the lines himself, then immediately replay the character saying the line, then rewind, say it again, replay – he would keep this up until he sounded exactly like the actor (and consequently had excellent pronunciation after a very short period of time).
This might take him a couple of days because although he could look up definitions and grammar online, often times he would need to consult with a native speaker either via a Spanish or language learning forum or someone he knew from work. He would really learn absolutely everything he could about those few sentences to the point of memorization.
When you do this yourself, keep in mind that the characters will occasionally use incorrect grammar that you will need to identify and note along with the correct version of what they said.He would initially get through one 30 minute show every few weeks but quickly accelerated because he was learning so much at such a rapid pace. After about a year of this he was completely fluent which, when you think about just how much conversational Spanish he was exposed to and forced himself to learn, isn’t really surprising. Persistence, persistence, persistence 
The telenovelas, along with movies, are very good method. The Spanish is colloquial, but not extremely formal, technical, obscure, or difficult; and there’s a wide variety of characters who you would actually encounter if you were living in a Spanish-speaking country who speak Spanish at very different levels: children, mechanics, housewives, doctors, street hustlers, and beggars. Learning spanish with movies
A very similar method is to get Spanish-language movies, turn on the Spanish subtitles (NOT the English ones!), and then watch it, pausing whenever I hear something I don’t understand–then, I just look at the bottom of the screen where I can see whatever word or phrase it was that threw me, look it up, learn it, and note it for later review…then just press play and wash, rinse, repeat until I’m through with the movie (which may very well take a few weeks)!
Oh, and always remember to pause and repeat after the speaker if your Spanish isn’t already excellent or you see a new word. Rewind, replay, and repeat until you’ve got it down cold.
An even better way to do this can be done if you can obtain the English translation of the script–this is not very often, but it does happen. What you do is watch the movie with the Spanish subtitles on and the English translation of the script so that you can follow along and, of course, pause at anything you don’t know and immediately learn it, just like above (the script just makes it a lot easier and allows you to learn things you wouldn’t be able to otherwise).
My all-time favorite movie where I managed to pull this off is Maria Full of Grace (María llena eres de gracia)
, which is an absolutely wonderful movie, especially if you’re interested in Colombia and/or want to learn to speak with a Colombian accent (considered to be the cleanest, easiest to understand, and most neutral Spanish accent in the world).

You can get the English translation of the script for it here on Scribd (download, print, whatever you want), and what’s so awesome about this is that now instead of looking up individual words and phrases as you go along, you’ve got an actual translation so you can understand the meaning of what’s being said in-context, which is faaaar more valuable than having a dictionary definition of a single word. This will make it much easier to understand what’s being said, what expressions and idioms mean, what certain words mean when they’re used in certain contexts, what a certain intonation or bit of body language means when coupled with a certain phrase, etc., etc., etc. See how awesome this is?
Of course, this presumes you can get the English translation of the script, which you often can’t, but you can often enough that it’s always worth the trouble to find out if a Spanish language movie has one available on the internet–easiest way to find out is to just Google “[movie title] english script” and “[movie title] script” and see what comes up. If that doesn’t immediately turn it up, three great sites to check with are The Internet Movie Script Database, Drew’s Script-O-Rama (go to the menu at the bottom under the picture–yes, I know, his site design does suck), and Simply Scripts. Not only can you find movie scripts, but you can often find scripts for TV shows as well.

List of Best Free Sites to Watch Spanish-Language TV Online
Today I’m going to give you a list of my favorite websites that you can use to help you learn Spanish via watching Spanish-language TV (news, shows, telenovelas, whatever). Only criteria is that they must be free, I’m not going to recommend anything you have to pay for (it’s just too easy to find free stuff and therefore no one’s going to be willing to pay for it–hey, I wouldn’t, I don’t blame you). I’ve divided it up alphabetically by country. Here we go…oh, and if any of these links are dead or you know of a site that I left off please leave a comment and let me know, I’ll fix it, I promise–which reminds me, I just want you to know that I actually checked each one of the sites below to make sure that they were working and actually had streaming video available, unlike every other list of Spanish language TV/radio station sites I’ve managed to find online (all of them had links to broken sites, all of them).

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea. Mind Mapping is an important technique that improves the way you record information, and supports and enhances your creative problem solving. It also, used to, visualize, structure, and classify ideas. The way to use mind map is that start with the main idea, and then figure out the “branches”. 
Uses of mind mapping are Note taking, Brainstorming, Problem solving, Studying, memorization, Planning, your creativity.
How to use it ?
for a meeting/note taking:

Start in the centre with an image of the topic, using at least 3 colours.
Use images, symbols, codes and dimensions throughout your Mind Map.
Select key words and print using upper or lower case letters.
Each word/image must be alone and sitting on its own line.
The lines must be connected, starting from the central image. The central lines are thicker, organic and flowing, becoming thinner as they radiate out from the centre.
Make the lines the same length as the word/image.
Use colours – your own code – throughout the Mind Map.
Develop your own personal style of Mind Mapping.
Use emphasis and show associations in your Mind Map.
Keep the Mind Map clear by using radial hierarchy, numerical order or outlines to embrace your branches.
